Terms of service

Effective 25 September 2026.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Held Software Limited (“Held”, “we”, “us”) when you create a booking page, book a page, or otherwise use bookheld.app and related services (the “Service”).

Held provides booking software. Professionals publish a public page. Clients select a service, choose a time, and pay a deposit to reserve that time. Held is not a marketplace, not an employer, and not a party to the service agreement between the professional and the client.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction and able to offer or accept a booking in good faith. You may not use the Service to discriminate unlawfully, to defraud anyone, or to harass or harm anyone.

2. Professional accounts

If you create a page, you are solely responsible for your services, prices, availability, descriptions, photos, policies, and the work you deliver. Clients book you, not Held. You must keep login credentials secure and keep payout details accurate. Disputes about the quality or delivery of work are between you and the client. Held may show system records. Held does not reperform the work or judge its quality.

3. Bookings and deposits

A booking is reserved when the deposit is successfully paid through checkout, not when someone sends a message. Card and transfer payments are processed by Paystack. Deposits may pay out to a bank account in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, or Côte d’Ivoire when a verified payout bank is on file. Until a payout bank is saved, a deposit may settle to Held’s Paystack account and require manual movement.

Held’s platform fee applies only to amounts successfully processed through Held, according to your plan: Free is $0 a month with a 5% Held fee on successful payments. Pro is $12 a month or $99 a year with a 0% Held fee. Payment processor fees are separate.. Payment processor fees are separate. Pro subscription is billed in USD and may require an international card or USD balance on Paystack. Free remains available for deposits with the Free fee. If Pro lapses, new payments use Free pricing. Historical fees are not recalculated. Confirmed bookings remain. Changing plans does not delete packages, series, or portal data.

Cancellation and reschedule rules follow what the professional configured and what the client manage link still allows. The deposit remains with the professional unless you both agree otherwise outside Held. Held is not an escrow service.

4. Client reviews

After a completed visit, Held may invite the client to leave a star rating and written review. Reviews tied to a verified booking may appear on the professional’s public page with an average rating. False, abusive, or unlawful reviews may be removed. Professionals may not coerce or fabricate reviews.

5. Demonstration page

The public demonstration page cannot collect a real deposit and is not an offer of professional services.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Held to collect payment for illegal goods or services, to impersonate another person, to abuse payment networks, or to attack the Service. We may close a page used for fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity. We will not close a page because of race, religion, gender, disability, language, or who you serve, unless the use itself is unlawful.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change features, pricing, and these Terms. The current text on this page controls. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. These Terms are not legal advice. Local consumer or payment rules may also apply.

8. Language

The product may be available in several languages. These Terms are in English. If a translation conflicts with this page, this English text controls.
